The Bihar Student Credit Card is an initiative by the Government of Bihar to provide financial assistance to students residing or domiciled in the state of Bihar. It is a state-funded scheme that aims to help financially deprived students to pursue their higher education via a loan provided through a credit card . This financial assistance through a credit card loan is available subject to fulfillment of certain terms and conditions

Launched in 2016, Bihar Student Credit Card scheme is a part of the Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Bhata Yojana (MNSSBY).

Bihar Student Credit Card Status Kaise Check Kare ?

Applicants can view the status of his/her Bihar Student Credit Card loan application from the “Applicant Support Portal” at https://www.bsefcl.bihar.gov.in/#/loginpage by entering their unique Login ID and Password. Applicants are also advised to use the same login ID and Password used for MNSSBY portal.

Bihar Student Credit Card Loan Maaf / Loan Waiver

The Government of Bihar provides major relief to the beneficiaries of the state government’s student credit card scheme (SCCS) by waiving education loans or long repayment tenures subject to fulfillment of following conditions :

  • If the student does not get a job after completing the professional course, then in this situation the student loan will be waived.
  • The loan amount waived will be credited directly to the linked bank account relating to Student Credit Card (SCC) Scheme.

The credit card covers expenses like tuition fees, examination fees, hostel fees, cost of books, laptops, and other essentials required for the course.

The interest rate for the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme loan is 4% . However, female applicants, Persons with Disabilities and transgender candidates are eligible to receive the education loan at a simple interest rate of 1%. The interest is calculated on a simple interest basis.

Yes, you can apply offline for the Bihar Student Credit Card scheme. Students can download the offline application form from the official website of the Bihar Student Credit Card scheme. After filling out the form, you can submit it to the nearest bank that is linked with the Bihar Student Credit Card scheme. Please note that no documents are to be attached online 

No, there is no income limit set for availing the Student Credit Card. It is available to all eligible students, irrespective of their family income.

The repayment period typically starts after the completion of the course. Students are provided with a grace period of 1 year or 6 months after getting a job, whichever is earlier. If the student gets employment then they will have to repay the loan amount in 84 easy installments.

Yes, there is an interest subsidy. The Bihar government pays the interest for the loan until the student completes the course. After that, the student needs to repay the loan with subsidized interest rates.
